What is a home inspection?
A home inspection is an objective, visual and non-destructive examination of the systems and structure of a home, from the roof to the foundation. Having a home inspection is similar to getting a physical checkup by your doctor. If a problem or symptom is discovered, the inspector may recommend further evaluation or simply monitoring.
A home inspection is not intended to be a warranty or insurance program, nor is it designed to eliminate all risk. It is a tool meant to aid in the purchase or maintenance of a home.
Can a home fail the inspection?
Absolutely not! A professional home inspection reports the current condition of your prospective/current home. It is not an appraisal, nor a municipal inspection, which verifies local code compliance. We do not "pass" or "fail" a home, but report the physical condition of the property, indicating what may need repair or replacement.
